A Little About Us
Andy Rosten became a California licensed general contractor in 1991 specializing in repairing older homes. Since then, nearly every source of discontinued tiles ran out of stock. Since 2016, he is transitioning from construction work to selling his accumulation of hard to find building supplies to fill the void. While other internet sites offer vintage building supplies, no one both identifies & sells discontinued tiles. We stock over 100 companies - some as early as the 1920's. We travel throughout the US to find tiles which require considerable time & expense to clean, identify, grade and inventory. We're always in need of new "old" stock and encourage you to contact us if you have any. However, since tile is heavy (approx 3.3 lbs/sq ft), shipping costs often exceed what we can pay for tiles from long distances unless they are specialty pieces or in high demand. We are especially interested in old tile catalogs or sample boards as we have many tiles we cannot identify by manufacturer or pattern. Please see our UNKNOWN page if you can help identify the manufacturer of any of those shown. We welcome any new information you know about a tile manufacturer listed or omitted on this site so we can share with others as it is designed both for business and historical education. At this time we only stock glazed ceramic or porcelain wall & counter tiles & trim and wide selection of only 8" floor tiles and some 12" tiles of a few nationwide manufacturers. There are a great number of mosaic, quarry and ceramic floor tiles that we simply cannot stock at this time due to limited space.
